Electionland for Reporters

Does your news organization want real-time information about voting problems in your area on Election Day? On November 8 a coalition of journalists will be monitoring social media and Google feeds and working with election-watchers of all stripes to pinpoint spots where there seem to be problems, such as locked doors, failing machines and long lines.

If we spot trouble in your area, we'll contact you (or your election reporter) and provide any information we can, hopefully pinpointing the exact problems and location.

The effort is lead by a coalition of media organizations – including ProPublica, Google News Lab, USA Today Network, Univision, First Draft Coalition, WNYC and the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in New York.

There are no payments or contracts to sign. Your only obligations? Pursue good leads as you would normally do. Credit us as a source if you write a story using one of our tips.

    Ready?

Still have questions? Read the FAQ for more about what you’ll get, and what you’re committing to. We'll be here when you get back.
