ProPublica is looking for someone to oversee our expansion into visual investigations — that is journalism that uses video, images and audio as primary sources of information. We’ve already started using FOIA and social media to obtain video evidence of wrongdoing and abuses of power but now we want to do impactful and even more ambitious visual investigations.
So who exactly are we looking for to do it? We want someone who is obsessed with finding visual evidence and has a record of using open source material to make journalism.
You should be comfortable managing a small team that gathers visual evidence, analyzes it and turns it into a compelling video or visual story. You should be excited about overseeing a project from concept to publication and working across teams — from research, to graphics, to social media.
